North East Link Project

North East Link is a significant investment in Melbourne’s north-east, aiming to improve the city’s transportation network. This project, part of Victoria’s Big Build initiative, encompasses three major road developments focused on reducing congestion and fostering economic growth in the region.

North East Link Tunnels: Spanning 6.5 kilometres from Watsonia to Bulleen, the North East Link tunnels will address critical gaps in Melbourne’s freeway system. With the capacity to accommodate approximately 15,000 trucks daily, these tunnels are expected to alleviate congestion and reduce travel times by up to 35 minutes.

Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road Upgrades: In conjunction with the North East Link tunnels, upgrades to the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road will introduce additional lanes and deploy advanced smart technology. These enhancements will seamlessly integrate with the tunnel network, optimising traffic flow and enhancing safety.

Agonis Group has been commissioned by the North East Link Project (NELP) Authority to deliver comprehensive constructability and technical advisory services throughout the project procurement phase. Our team’s expertise in constructability, construction, delivery advisory, high-level risk assessment, and subject matter expert technical advice are integral to the project’s success.

The relationship between Agonis Subject Matter Expert and the NELP team plays a key role in project-wide risk identification and cost reduction. It is expected that our involvement within NELP will continue to grow until project completion as Agonis continues to provide value-added services.
