The METRONET/PTA programme of work has included numerous Perth urban rail network upgrades, construction improvements, new stations and line extensions.  Works include Thornley to Cockburn, Yanchep Line extension, Bayswater Station, Morley Ellenbrook Line, Armadale Level Crossing, Byford Rail Extension, Midland Station, Claremont Station, Stirling Station, and Byford Rail Extension. 

 

Relevance and value to SRLA

Previous Experience. Agonis Group was engaged by the Public Transport Authority (PTA) to provide expert assistance, expertise and constructability advice on a series of projects for the Perth Metropolitan Rail Network. Individual assignments have incorporated bridges, tunnels and structures, stations and facilitates, infrastructure configuration and turnbacks, interchange works and level crossing removals. This programme of works includes projects on Main Roads’ Directorate’s portfolio including Yanchep and Thornley to Cockburn extensions.

Constructability Rail, Road, and Bridge. Our engagement has consisted of various practical, strategic and technical services including constructability, maintainability, deliverability, risk assessments, and cost estimation.  We have provided utilities and services management, development of construction programmes, detailed scheduling and works staging, construction methodology, occupation / possession strategy, and procurement strategy across a multidisciplinary program of works across rail systems, roads, civil, structures, and buildings.

Stakeholder Engagement. We have worked collaboratively with key design disciplines and multiple other stakeholders to deliver practical and timely outcomes.  In view of the benefits, Agonis worked with designer to improve design quality, constructability, address constraints around disruptions to passengers. Our strong rail construction experience and constructability expertise provided the foundation for the development of staging which minimised disruption to road vehicle and passenger
