The Level Crossing Removal Project is one of the most extensive and arguably one of the most successful  infrastructure programs of work undertaken in Australia. It includes the removal of seventy-five road and rail crossings with road-under, road-over, and rail-over structural solutions. It also includes road improvements and bridge and structure replacements on every rail corridor in Melbourne.

Initially invited to provide business case advice for the project in 2014, Agonis has subsequently been integral to all stages of the LXRP.

Extensive road & rail structures experience – Agonis has been central to delivery of innovative construction solutions for road and rail infrastructure, including 40-metre-span bridges, realignment of intersections, road lowering, and all the considerable utilities, surfacing, ITS, and public transport interface considerations inherent in such works.

Enhanced traffic disruption management – Agonis developed construction strategies for several highly complex, major road corridors. Grappling with the unique challenges of each discrete project, Agonis has consistently developed construction methods which minimise unnecessary disruption and in-turn, delivery risk. These methods have harnessed the power of prefabrication, early works, and blitzes, as well as thorough consultation, engagement and alignment with project stakeholders.

Deft stakeholder engagement – An exceptionally wide-reaching project, the LXRP has exposed Agonis to the complexities of many different stakeholder environments. Agonis’ work engaging with and managing these discrete project forces has been integral to facilitating interface management, approvals, compliance and delivery efficiency.
